November – the month of the All Saints and All Souls

We have had our whole school Mass for All Saints Day on Wednesday November 1st which is a Holy Day of Obligation in the Catholic Church.  This is the day we celebrated and learned from the example of the many Christian role models both famous and who we have known in our own lives  During November prayers are said in House Groups and Assemblies for our dead relatives and friends using the traditional ‘Eternal Rest’ prayer of the Church. The Catholic Church also asks us to remember the Holy Souls who have no one to pray for them. In November, pupils can pray for the dead by going into the school chapel and filling in a remembrance card and placing it on the altar.  These prayer cards will be offered to God at our weekly Mass on a Friday afternoon at 2pm.
