Course Entry Requirements:

Four GCSEs at grade 4 and above

General Course Description:

The purpose of the course is to equip pupils with a practical understanding of the business world that surrounds them. It is a vocational course that should provide students with the business skills needed to thrive post-education. The students are assessed through a combination of practical project-based work and a two-hour personal finance examination.

In year 13, the optional modules can change from year to year depending on the cohort. Each module however is worth the same number of marks. The current cohort are scheduled to study Unit Fourteen – Recruitment and Selection Processes.

Career Pathways:

This course has been developed in conjunction with employers and professional bodies to ensure that the content is relevant to the modern business environment. This means it is appropriate for pupils considering apprenticeships/careers in fields such as Accountancy, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, etc. 

Additionally, the course is designed with further education in mind and as such could lead to other vocational courses at college or progression to University, where the UCAS equivalent points are recognised alongside traditional A-Level’s.
